Konkani fish curry

Konkanis cook well. Almost as good as Parsees. That is because they are Catholic.

Konkani Fish Curry

Two pounds firm fish, big chunks.
Half cup each: Oil, chopped onions.
Quarter cup chopped tomatoes.
One and a half cup coconut milk.
Half dozen green peppers, slit and seeded.
Two tablespoons chilipaste.
One tablespoon ground coriander.
One teaspoon each: ground cumin, turmeric, sweet chili powder.
A lot of chopped ginger, a little chopped garlic.
Half cup of weak tamarind water.

Whirr chili paste spices ginger garlic and tamarind water in the blender.
Brown the onions. Add tomatoes and masala, fry fiercely for two minutes. Add half the coconut milk and cook till oil separates. Put in the fish, green chilies, a few tablspoons of water, and a little more of the coconut milk. Cook five minutes. Pour in the last of the coconut milk, bring to a boil, and remove from heat. Serve with plain rice.
Simple and exquisite.

Guilt adds to cooking ability?

Guilt adds infinetely to cooking skill. As do naughty acts, odd fetishes, and dissolute passions.

You, miss Wong, could become a great cook with the proper tutelage.

So you're saying that Catholics make better cooks?
Hmmmm. While that contention seems to be supported by the facts in Europe, the Irish fortunately disprove it utterly. Their food is worse than anything else in that part of the world. Possibly excepting Norwegian.

The Northern equivalent of guilt is embodies by their cuisine. What, pray tell, are Northern Europeans known for save heartburn, inedible treifus, deep fried bollocks, and no actual guilt over mass murder, imperialism, and strong-arm robbery of the rest of the world?

Dry fish.

Konkanis' make the best fish curry since they're coastal people from India. But not all Konkani people are Catholics. Konkani is a language spoken in Goa but there are Brahmins who are Konkanis' too.

The recipe for the fish curry looks yummy!
